Yesterday Greta gave birth to 4 puppies: 2 dogs and 2 bitches. They were born by caesarian. They're all fine.

First zwartbles lamb are born

Today our sheep Jans, born in 2005, gets 2 lamb, female again.

Every sunday morning my mum brings dogs sausages for our dogs. They're very fond of it.

Next week (the 5. of march) kamb can be born. So yesterday afternoon we put the zwartbles in the new sheeppen.

Booted bantams and the Breda Fowl

The booted bantam and the Breda fowl are very friendly chicken. They both eat out of my hand. So it's easy to observe them:

Greta loves live again

The last two week Greta was sick and did not eat, although we gave her raw meat. Normally she adores that, but now she did not want it. Last monday she started to eat again and by now she still wants more.
Last weekend she caught a rat. I was afraid, but Sjaak, my husband, praised her. Than the rat was gone and I was happy. The next day she carried the rat again. Somewhere she  had burried the animal. After that we got the rat from her.

Her figure shows that she'll have puppies in a few weeks.

Chicks of the Nort Holland Blues are born

The first chicks are born in the incubator

Yesterday afternoon a chcik of the North Holland Blue was born. In the evening 2 others were born. As I put 16 eggs in the incubator, I was very disappointed. But, this morning 11 chicks were running over the other eggs and 1 was trying to leave his egg. The others run over him. So I decided to put the others in a box with an infrared lamp and wait till the evening if other chicks will be born.

Greta is pregnant

 This morning Greta, our wetterhoun of nearly 4) and I went to the vet. Greta has been sick every morning for the last two weeks. So I was confident she was pregnant, but I wanted an estimate about the number of puppies we could expect. The Fed made an ultrasound which showed 5 puppies. For 28 days pregnancy, the Foets were too small. This means that the puppies are expected around March 21.
